ABOUT OUR FOUNDER: Sylvania Reyna
Sylvania has enjoyed “the benefits of fitness, the joy of dance” since the age of three. Her passion for movement began with her most influential dance teacher and lifetime mentor, Melba Huber. Throughout her lifetime, Sylvania has studied dance with many master teachers in tap, ballet, and jazz.
Sylvania received her dance degree in 1979 from United States International University in San Diego. It wasn't long before she found a blossoming career in the dance-fitness industry in management, program development and choreography.
Sylvania has maintained a GOLD certification from the American Council on Exercise since 1986. In 1985, the marriage of her dance and fitness training were evident when she introduced "low impact aerobics" at the International Dance Exercise Association (IDEA) Convention. In 2009 she was nominated for Fitness Instructor of the Year Award for the IDEA Fitness and Health Association, a prestigious honor for her commitment to her students, and quality instruction for over 30 years.
As a dancer, choreographer and "international industry presenter", Sylvania has been consultant to dance exercise videos, as well as a guest presenter on choreography for both the UCLA Adult Fitness Program, UCSD Fitness Certification Program, IDEA, and other nationally recognized organizations.
